I recently arrived home after my 9-day trip to the UK. I had the opportunity to visit Edinburgh and London. Most probably this trip will be the seed for some posts I already have in mind. However I wanted to share with you a message from a train driver in the London Underground (central line):
The next station is Bond Street. Change here for the Jubilee line. Remember to take all your belongings with you when leaving the train. Please remember to take all your belongings with you when leaving the train. And remember: whatever you do, wherever you are, no matter the weather, have a great weekend. And if I don't see you again, I wish you a Merry Christmas.
You could see a smile on the face of many passengers. Thank you, anonymous train driver, for giving us those seconds of happiness. I hope you have a Merry Christmas too!

ReplyDeleteThat kind of comment, from that sort of people, is so uncommon and so necessary nowadays...
ReplyDeleteHe could have a bad stressful day, or just do his work without giving anything else on a personal level. That would be professional. But I really think that extra personal touch is vital to improve morale. It's a happy unexpected thought that surprises you, much more effective than ten expected ones. A good one in the exact moment is just priceless.
By the way, welcome back :)
@eturino
ReplyDeleteIt's exactly what you said. It was a happy and unexpected comment. And he definitely had no obligation to make it. It made me realise there was someone there. Usually when we travel on the tube we are absorbed by our own thoughts. That was a good reality check.
Thank you for your comment! I'm back but I wished I could have spent some more time there :)
@deepbane
A veces cuesta tan poco...
